CORIANDER

Coriandrum sativum

Coriander seeds have been used for their healing and culinary purposes for over 7,000 years across multiple continents. From migraines, allergies, or for fertility, coriander has been a favorable go-to in ancient and even current medicinal practices. 

Today, there is ample research that acknowledge coriander essential oil to be a powerful antimicrobial as well as pest control, anti-inflammatory, and digestive aid. Its invigorating aroma pair beautifully with an array of various complimentary essential oils.  

Practical Benefits and Uses​
  • Arthritis- Add 5 drops of coriander oil to 1 tsp preferred carrier oil. Massage over affected area. 
  • Cramping- Combine 4 drops coriander oil and 1/2 tsp carrier oil in the palm of  your hand. Massage where pain and cramping are present.
  • Digestion- Combine 5 drops coriander oil and 1 tsp carrier oil in the palm of your hand. Massage in a circular motion around the navel after eating.
  • Migraine- Combine 2 drop coriander oil with 1/2 tsp carrier oil in the palm of your hand. Massage onto temples and back of neck.
  • Nausea- Inhale directly from the bottle when feeling nauseous. 
  • Stress- Add 5 drops coriander and 5 drops lavender oil to an air diffuser. Inhale the soothing scent as needed.

Can Be Used for
  • Aromatherapy diffuser- Add 10 drops to a diffuser. Add complimentary oils if desired.
  • In a bath- 5 drops essential oil, 1 Tbsp carrier oil, 4 oz Epsom salts. Combine first, then add to running water.
  • In massage oil blend- Always test on an insensitive area for skin sensitivity. Add essential oil to preferred carrier oil.

  • Allspice, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lemongrass, Nutmeg, Orange, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang-Ylang

  • If applying an essential oil to your skin, always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body after you have properly diluted it with a preferred carrier oil. 
  • Do not apply topically to children under 2 years of age.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Do not take internally. 
  • If pregnant, nursing, or under a doctors care, consult your physician before use.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Direct contact with coriander oil may be dangerous to cats.
  • Don't let diffuser run continuously. Always take breaks after 30-60 minutes of running time.​
