MARJORAM

Origanum majorana
Marjoram is well-known kitchen herb that has an earthy, yet robust flavor. However, one of its earliest and more interesting accounts is that the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, grew it in her garden. Consequently it was commonly used in love potions.

Practical Benefits and Uses
  • Antibacterial- In a spray bottle, add 20 drops of marjoram to 8 oz distilled water, and 8 oz vinegar. Shake and spray on surfaces. Leave for 15 minutes before wiping clean.
  • Bug repellant-  In a small dark spray bottle, combine 12 drops marjoram oil, 1 tsp carrier oil, and 4 oz distilled water. Shake well and mist over body.
  • Digestion- Combine 1/2 Tbsp carrier oil and 5 drops marjoram. Massage into abdomen, around the navel, in a circular motion.
  • Mood- Add 10 drops to a diffuser or simply inhale directly from the bottle.
  • Respiratory- Add 10 drops to a cold-air humidifier and allow to run to promote respiratory relief and to clean the air.
